Lisa C. Scranton, MS, RDN, LD
Lisa is an expert on therapeutic food and nutrition. She received her Bachelor of Science degree in Dietetics from Purdue University and Master’s degree in Food Science at Michigan State University. She has over 27 years of experience working with clients on therapeutic food plans and teaching about food and nutrition.
As a patient herself, she learned first hand about the impact of food sensitivities on her health and the power of an individualized food plan for healing. Her own health crisis brought her to Functional Medicine. While she had always been fascinated by human biochemistry, it was through her own re-education that she came to see how every system of the body is interconnected and interdependent. She teaches from her own profound life experience how our complex physiology is impacted–for better or for worse–by every bite of food we put in our mouths and by the way we respond to and interact with the world around us. She believes that Functional Medicine is our best hope for addressing the current epidemic of inflammatory and autoimmune diseases.
